Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC)

Transportation Hub Facility

Anaheim, CA

The City of Anaheim developed the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) envisioned as the future southern terminus for the California High Speed Rail system. ARTIC serves as the primary intermodal transfer station for Orange County public transportation services connecting riders to the Honda Center, home of the Anaheim Ducks hockey team and Angels Stadium, Disneyland, and other event venues. The major tenants include Amtrak, Metrolink, Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA), Greyhound, and Anaheim Resort Transit for regional bus service. Faith Group worked with the City to develop new operations, policies, and service agreements for the facility and lead design and construction administration services for security, IT, and communications systems for the Hub facility as well as surface parking lots. Systems included access control, CCTV, electronic displays, public address (PA), blue light stations, telephone, Wi-Fi, infrastructure, and administrative LAN. Faith Group’s work integrated data and technology systems from a wide variety of sources which varied in complexity.

The firm managed the creation of critical documents for the PA and the passenger information display systems (PIDS) including service level agreements, system specification documents, and testing plans. The integrated PA PIDS was an innovative approach, displaying the status of all transportation providers inclusive of the rail and bus as well as feeding information to the platform and mobile devices. ARTIC has won numerous awards and is the first LEED Platinum certified transit facility in the world.
