San Bernardino County
Valley Communications Center
San Bernardino, CA
As part of the Design-Build team, Faith Group is providing low voltage systems planning, design, and construction administration (CA) for the new Valley Communications Center. This 365/24/7 three-story building will sit on 6.85-acres and serve as the primary Emergency Operation Center (EOC) and Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the San Bernardino Valley. The facility is a first of its kind project for the County, intended to facilitate cross-agency collaboration and will be occupied by the Sheriff-Coroner, Office of Emergency Services, County Fire, Consolidated Fire Agencies, Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency, Radio Management Facility, and Building Services. The building also has its own communications tower to support all the radio communication.
Faith Group is facilitating owner workshops to validate system requirements, developing full construction documents in collaboration with the design-builder, participating in agency review, and performing CA services for all security, technology, and audiovisual systems, along with supporting network infrastructure. Some of the key components include several large-scale video walls, integrated workstation consoles to support emergency functions as well as dispatch and training, and both site and building security systems. Some of the unique challenges included coordinating underground pathways around a full building isolator system for seismic event mitigation and master systems integration.
